The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. 

The Student of the Quarter program will help foster these attributes in the world's future leaders by recognizing and rewarding students who display good citizenship, ethics, honor and kindness. Each Quarter the Rotary Club of Scarborough will honor one High School and one Middle School student with the Student of the Quarter award. Students may be selected by teachers, school administrators, guidance counselors or coaches.

Recommended criteria for selection:

 

_______ Student is in good academic standing

 

_______ Student has participated in volunteerism, citizenship or service learning opportunities

 

_______ Student displays significant leadership within the school either through academics, student council, sports

                or extra-curricular activities

           

_______ Student is a peer helper or displays high degree of willingness to assist others

 

_______ Student has overcome a major personal obstacle or achieved significant growth in a certain

                area for which they should be recognized

 

_______ Student has demonstrated acts of good will and compassion toward other students
