March 10th Meeting
With Cabelas unavailable, an invitation to meet at Scarborough Terrace was readily accepted.

Candy introduced our host, Elizabeth Simonds. The Cumberland resident began with a few opening remarks before taking us on a tour.
Assisted living is a bridge from independent living to assisted living that provides meals, bathing and grooming, and managing.  All three daily meals are provided by an excellent Chef. (On duty staff working 8 hours or more are entitled to partake.) The big meal is served at noon. Whereas, the evening meal is supper.  Typically, the early serving  time (7:30, 11:30, 5:30) is the most popular.
  • Venture outdoors to enjoy the terrace, garden or walking paths.
  • Relax with a good book or access the internet using our computer.
  • Enjoy resting, reading or watching TV in the privacy of one's own apartment.
  • Attend afternoon teas, cocktail hours, live concerts and performances, holiday parties, Barbecues, and lobster feasts.
  • Take in a movie in our theater, complete with leather chairs and popcorn.

During our tour of the Y shaped building, we were shown the movie room-complete with popcorn popper, many different living rooms, the dining room, and a medium size studio apartment.

As she concluded her tour, Elizabeth offered the club use of their meeting room again.
