District Governor Carolyn Johnson praised Scarborough Rotary for its long list of service projects during her official visit Tuesday.

Accompanied by Assistant District Governor Marge Barker, District Governor Carolyn Johnson recognized the club for its projects and specifically recalled Dictionaries for Third Graders, Scholarships, Interact, Four Way Test Essay Contest, and the Stuff The Bus Food Drive. "RYLA couldn't be what it is without Jared Avery", Scarborough member and RYLA Director, she remarked. She then described some of Rotary Foundations efforts, including disease eradication, promoting peace, education and clean water. Her personal passion is Guatemala, and she thanked Rotarians for their support of The Rotary Foundation. It funds programs in health and literacy for which she is a frequent volunteer. Talking about her service experiences brought tears to her eyes as she recalled a patient whom had received corrective facial surgery.
