The Rotary Club of Scarborough is saddened by the news that former member Bernie Kelly passed away on Sunday, September 8th, 2013. Bernie was a member from August, 2001- June, 2005.

He was the club bulletin editor for several years, and was instrumental on a town beautification Rotary serivce project. Working with the Scarboroguh Police to have welcome signs erected at major entrances to town, most of the local service clubs supported this and each was given space on all sign posts. A host club was given the center placement and that club was responsible for maintaining the surrounding grounds. Rotary was awarded the center spot  across from Cabelas at that welcome sign, and Rotary's work can be seen there today. Bernie chaired the committee, that maintained that site.

Bernie and his wife Sandi always participated with and volunteered with Rotary Clam Bake, supported most social events  and was present at our recent 50th celebration. He was a good friend to Rotary, its members, and our community and will be missed by all that knew him.
