Scarborough e-Waste Fundraiser and Food Drive a huge success!!
Scarborough Rotarians partnered with Scarborough Public Works and the Food Cupboard of South Portland on Saturday for a day of electronics waste recycling, and a food drive.
On Saturday October 30th, several Scarborough Rotarians met up at Scarborough Public Works to get down to some good ole' fashioned recycling! We started out at 9am, and kept moving with a steady flow of cars all the way until 1pm. We recycled several big screen TVs, computers, yes, even an Apple computer or two, monitors, keyboards, batteries, and much more.
In addition to the electronics we recycled, we also took in non-perishable food items and donations for the Food Cupboard of South Portland.
All in all we collected over $1500 dollars in donations, and 3/4 of semi-truck full of recycled goods. Thank you to everyone for your contributions.
